The 2006 Renaissance Awards Reception
Representing excellence in the areas of literature, music, politics, dance and film, Harlem's influence reaches beyond its geographical borders and touches the world. Befitting the legacy of our internationally-renowned neighborhood, The Renaissance Awards honors inspirational individuals in entertainment, business and community development.
Proceeds from the Renaissance Awards will be used to support this year's HiFF Youth Film programming as well as HiFF's Summer 2007 Young Filmmaker's Boot Camp; a summer intensive that will provide youth in Harlem and it's surrounding neighborhoods of Washington Heights, Inwood and the Bronx an opportunity to immerse themselves in the filmmaking process, from conception to completion. Select Boot Camp films will be featured in the 2007 Harlem International Film Festival Youth Film Program.
